- Still don't have a job.
- Teaching Certification has expired. The only way to reactivate it is to get a 2nd Bachelor's Degree.
- Money is very quickly running out.
- No job prospects at all unless I work 2 full time jobs, and a part time job.
- Working that much, I MIGHT make ends meet. Until January when my student loans start to come due.
- Probably going to have to disconnect my internet, home phone, maybe cell phone, XM Radio, cable, TiVo and not buy anything but groceries and gas until I can get a full time job that pays at least what I was making as a teacher. And stop going to the gym (I love that so much...)
- Can't afford to move because I can't save enough money to rent an apartment, activate utilities, change property placement, and eat. I'd have to pick from one of those.
- No health insurance, or coverage of any kind.
- Found a part-time job that can only work me 15 hours a week at $5.75/hr. before taxes.
- My dog that I've had for nearly 16 years is dying.
It's been a really great weekend.

OMG.
I wish I would have read this before I talked to you -- I had no idea it's been this tough.
Does substitute teaching pay something you could live on?
apart from teaching, what other marketable skills do you have? perhaps, it might be time for a career switch. good luck! and i'm really sorry to hear about your dog.
are there career counselling centres there that you can go to? i haven't done this for myself. however, this has been suggested to me on numerous occasions so that i can find out how i can convert my aborted PhD into marketable job skills.
Jason: Subbing pays on average $80/day. However, I'd have to sub 5 days a week to make any kind of living at it.
Raph: I've thought about a career switch, but what I run in to (around here, anyway) is that I'm too highly educated for most of these positions around here. I could move if I had enough money, but I've had many bills come through and what I had saved is now gone. I've been to career counselling, and I do have many skills, but none in a specific area. In this part of the country, no one wants to train anyone for anything. They want you to know what you're doing when you walk in the door.
Well if there's anything I can do that will help you, let me know.
